Crumley Named Academic Dean of Riverside Prep

Gainesville, GA - On the heels of Academic Dean Dr. Cathy D. Moore’s retirement celebration, Riverside Preparatory Academy announced Richard Crumley as Academic Dean effective June 1, 2023. Crumley came to Riverside Prep last fall as Assistant Dean of Cadet Development with over 30 years of experience in education, including two decades of high school administration and seven of those years as principal. 

Crumley earned a B.S. in Health and Physical Education from the University of Georgia; M.A. in Health Studies from the University of Alabama; and an Ed.S in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.

“I am thrilled to accept the position as Academic Dean and continue on the Riverside Prep leadership team. The opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of young people is a job I do not take lightly. Every day provides an opportunity for growth and success and helps shape the leaders of the future," said Crumley.

During his tenure at Riverside Prep, Crumley stepped in as Interim Athletic Director and was named permanent Athletic Director last month.

Although we will miss Dr. Moore and the exceptional leadership she provided for the past three years, I am confident that Crumley is the right choice to lead our faculty with excellence and humility as well as build upon Dr. Moore’s leadership and accomplishments.” 

Crumley has been married for 32 years to Luci Crumley, a high school educator in Gwinnett County. They have 3 children Nathan, Joshua and Jeremiah. The Crumleys have one grandson.
